A national initiative by Embrapa for monitoring the health of Brazilian soils.
Welcome
Welcome to the Soil Health Platform BR — an Embrapa initiative that brings together, for the first time, national data on the health of Brazilian soils in an open digital environment.
Based on thousands of soil samples from all states in the country, the platform integrates results from bioanalyses performed by the laboratories of the Embrapa Soil BioAnalysis Network (Rede BioAS), forming one of the world's largest soil health databases.
These data combine biological indicators (enzymatic activity), physical indicators (texture), and chemical indicators (fertility and organic matter), offering a comprehensive view of the quality and sustainability of Brazilian agricultural soils.
The information is collected anonymously, aggregated by state or municipality, and made available by Embrapa for public access.
More than a database, the Platform is a strategic tool to boost regenerative and low-carbon agriculture, in alignment with Brazil's climate commitments and the 2030 Agenda.

What is the Platform?
The Soil Health Platform BR integrates and provides information on the health of Brazilian soils in an open-access digital environment, based on indices derived from chemical and biological soil analyses. These indices are presented in interactive maps, available by state or municipality, including:
- Indices of nutrient cycling, storage, and supply, which represent the performance of key soil functions;
- Soil health classification, which categorizes each area as healthy, in recovery, intermediate, deteriorating, or unhealthy;
- Map of the total available samples by municipality, reflecting the sampling density and the coverage of the database
The Platform enables:
- Explore the data through spatial, temporal, agricultural crop, and textural class filters;
- Visualize different maps side by side (soil health, soil functions, sampling density) and compare regions of interest;
- View detailed statistics by municipality;

Why do healthy soils matter?
Healthy soils are more productive, store more water, sequester carbon, degrade pesticides, and contribute to food quality.
When soil becomes sick, it loses its ability to sustain agriculture and to provide essential environmental services.
The Soil Health BR Platform was created to assess, monitor, and promote soil health throughout the Brazilian territory — a fundamental step for regenerative and climate-resilient agriculture.

A Brazilian milestone at COP30
The launch of the Soil Health Platform BR during COP30, in Belém – PA, reinforces Brazil's role as a global leader in sustainable solutions for agriculture and food systems.
By democratizing access to strategic information, the Platform becomes an instrument of transformation for the present and future of Brazilian agriculture.
